Hi guys, Today I have an interesting tutorial to share with you. In this tutorial, we’ll be creating a sleek and stylish blog layout design. We all know a good blog design will always attract more readers to any blog.
So here we will be using some straightforward and effective techniques to create an amazing design. We will create shadows and use textures to make it more appealing. Hope you guys enjoy this quick tutorial. Thanks

Before we start with the tutorial let’s have a look at our final result.
Step 1: Create a new File
Create a new file with 1300px width and 1950px height.
Step 2: Navigation area
First we will start with the top navigation menu. So select the marquee tool and select the top area. And fill it with # 0f0f0f.
Step 3: Add the pattern
For adding a bit of pattern to this, click on Layer> Layer style> Pattern Overlay.
Step 4: Separator Line
Now we will add some small lines to separate our pages. So select 1px hard round brush with foreground color # 000000. Draw a small vertical line and then remove the edges using soft round brush.
Step 5: Drop Shadow
We need to add drop shadow to the line so click on Layer> Layer style>Drop Shadow.
Step 6: Create more Lines
Repeat the same process and create some more lines or you copy the layer with Ctrl/CMD + C. Now add text using our text tool.
Step 7: Add logo
Now add the logo on the left next to the pages.
Step 8: Create a shadow
We’ll add a light shadow under the navigation area. So select soft round brush with 65% opacity and color #000000.
Step 9: Feature Area
Now let’s start with feature area. Select Marquee tool and create a rectangle. Click on the Paint bucket tool and fill the rectangle with # 852121.
Step 10: Grunge Pattern
To add the pattern to this rectangle click on Layer> Layer style> Pattern Overlay and select a pattern from the Natural Grunge pattern set mentioned above.
Step 11: Small circles
Create a small circle under the image using Ellipse tool and fill it with # 1d1f23. Then click on Layer>Layer style> Bevel and Emboss. You can also add 1px stroke with color # 5f0605.
Repeat the same process and create some more circles. And then select a hard round brush and use it on one of the circles with color # 6d7974.
Step 12: Feature Text Area
Now select the Text tool and add text on the right, after that create a read more button using “Rectangle tool and use the same style which we have used in the circles.
Step 13: Main Content
Now let’s move on to our main content area. Select the marquee tool and create a rectangle. Fill it with # 191919. Then click on Layer> Layer style> stroke and add 1px stroke with color # 7a7a7a.
Step 14: Add Shadow
Select the Soft Round brush and use it under the rectangle to create the shadow. Repeat the same process and create some more rectangles.
Step 15: Search bar
Now add the search icon from the sliver icon set I’ve mentioned above on the small rectangle. And add “Search” Text.
Step 16: Sidebar
Add some random widget, icons and calendar to our sidebar. You can add whatever you like.
Step 17: Image Frame
Create another rectangle for the image frame and fill it with color # efefef. Then click on Layer> Layer style> Stroke.
Step 18: Post details
Now add post image to the rectangle and add dummy text using text tool.
Repeat the same process and create another post.
Step 19: News Area
Now add the some images and text under the “Latest news” section in the same way as we did the posts. But this time images will be a bit more rectangle in shape.
Step 20: Footer area
Now let’s start with our footer. First select the marquee tool and create a rectangle. Fill it with color # 0f0f0f.
Step 21: Footer background
Select a strip of the footer area we created above and fill it with color # 852121. Now add the same pattern as we did to our feature area.
Step 22: Footer Content
Now select the text tool and add some widgets and copyright text to our footer and we are done. You can also decorate these by adding some points and lines using color # 86201e.
